2Chicks Seal of Approval

We’ve found another gem; another outstanding and successful home business to share with you all! The 2Chicks Seal of Approval has been awarded to Pamela Wilson of Zurek Design, Inc. and Big Brand System.

Pamela Wilson

Pamela has provided graphic design and marketing services since 1987. She became a devoted small business owner when she opened the doors to Zurek Design, Inc. just prior to the birth of her first child in 1992. When asked to describe her business and services, Pamela told the 2Chicks,

“My passion is helping companies and organizations communicate in a way that makes their businesses grow! My two companies are all about marketing, one way or another. Zurek Design Inc. provides graphic design and marketing services to local, national, and international clients. BigBrandSystem.com helps businesses create their own marketing materials by themselves.”

Pamela’s award winning design work has been cited for excellence by the Greater Miami Advertising Federation (six “Addy” awards); Women in Communications (ACE award for Communications Excellence); Printing Industry of South Florida (GraphBest award); and the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors (First Place Newsletter).

Pamela continues to focus on the well-established Zurek Design, Inc. while following a new zeal that grew out of her own experience as a small business owner working from home. “My favorite service,” Pamela told 2Chicks, “is Big Brand System, which was founded just last year — so it’s the baby of the family. I am enjoying the process of reaching out to small business owners, understanding their needs, and crafting products and services that empower them to take their marketing into their own hands.”

“I believe that everyone can learn enough about design and marketing to be able to handle most of their materials by themselves. Every business, no matter what the size, can have marketing materials that show them in their very best light. I never tire of watching the transformation that happens to companies when I help them build a new marketing identity: they find it easier to promote their company because their materials look good and work well. Everyone sits up a little straighter, and feels a sense of pride. I love it!”

Pamela has put her words into action. She has set a late June launch date for the Big Brand System to open its doors to student business owners interested in learning how to create fantastic marketing materials.  If you’d like to know more about the extraordinary and exciting plans Pamela has for Big Brand System, click here to be added to Pamela’s early bird registration group.

Outstanding Service and Design

Before the 2Chicks give their coveted Seal of Approval, we go to the source and try out the services or products. Both Yolanda and CaZ contracted separately with Pamela for different design services. Once the busy 2Chicks compared notes on their experience with Pamela, each realized that a Seal of Approval was in order.

Yolanda asked for a business card to promote Marketing:Unhinged since she does a fair amount of local networking in her Arizona community. Pamela, who does design from business cards to billboards, was happy to oblige—even though cards like this are usually done as part of a larger package of design work. Yolanda wanted a card with color on both sides. These pictures show the final design.

Great Interview Audio

Check out the interview audio. It has super insights and tips for any business person wondering about how to get quality marketing collateral on a buget.

Yolanda, Pamela, and CaZ discuss creativity and what percentage of home businesses (you’ll be shocked by this number!) actually make their own marketing materials, along with fascinating tidbits like what Pamela would be doing if she was not a designer.

CaZ wanted a WritingBytes website header / logo treatment to help launch her local business in the North Carolina community to which she’s recently relocated. Check out this short video to see just how easy Pamela makes this look and to understand why the 2Chicks are so impressed by Pamela’s professionalism and service.

What it’s Like Working from Home for 20+ Years

Of course, it would not be a 2Chicks event if we didn’t talk about home business. We talked to Pamela about what she finds challenging and fun aabout working from home. Here’s what she had to say.

“I don’t find (working from home) challenging at all at this point since I’ve been doing it so long. On the contrary, I find it extremely challenging when I have to go and work in an office for whatever reason. How do people accomplish anything with so many interruptions?

The absolute best thing has been that I have been able to be there for my children throughout their school years in a way that I couldn’t have been if I’d worked away from home. Just being present for them is by far the most valuable aspect of working from home for me. They’re older now, and within two years both will be in college, but there’s no going back for me at this point. I can’t imagine going back to an office: it would be like torture!”

Congratulations, Pamela! We are proud to add you and your terrific home businesses to our select list of 2Chicks Seal of Approval recipients.

I totallly agree with your seal of approval! Pamela Wilson has become a vital part of our business at Malt Advocate.

We publish a whisky magazine, host whisky festivals and have an active website and blog. Pamela designed everything for us (magazine issues, event brochures, programs, website, blog, you name it) and provided our company with valuable advice along the way. I can't sing her praises high enough.
